Machiel Kommer

The perception of all Seals was a warm welcome when Machiel came in after our former leadguitarist left the band. Machiel contributes a lot of melodies to the Sealsound, takin' the band's guitar-soloparts to a high level. Beïng also John's ''twinbrother'' he is an essential and always presence part of the band. For years, though he always had an interest when it comes to hardrock, Machiel was a member of the hit-coverband ''Macho grandes'', his education in music however pushed him into a more technical way of expressing his musical skills, so he discided to join the Seals. From the early years Machiel is inspired by Maidens ''good ol'' Dave Murray, after studying his legato hammer-ons, he came more provoked by the speedpicking and tapping of guitarplayers like Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, George Lynch and Steve Vai. Currently he developes a more substantial number of values of technical movements on the fretboard, wich is more according to his first love: classic metal. Machiel plays on and on and on on Ibanez/Fender guitars and Marshall amplification.
